A Bit Stoned!

Had a very productive few days with Rob Martins at the Avebury Stone Circle in Wiltshire. This 5,500 year old ancient monument is one of the country’s greatest treasures as far as I’m concerned although nearby Stonehenge seems to get all the publicity! I’ve been visiting Avebury since 1991 and it never ceases to be awe inspiring with its huge sarsen monoliths standing guard over the landscape.

We were here to do some fieldwork which at the moment, we are keeping the results quiet as we are waiting for confirmation on various findings. This ancient monument is continually springing up surprises that may challenge the existing ground plot of the site. We shall see.

And thanks to all who have been to the various book signings for ‘Paranormal Surrey’. We had a sold out launch at Waterstones in Sutton with Guest Dr Ciaran O’Keeffe and I have since done two other signings at the Redhill and Dorking stores with just Godalming to do in June. Folk seem to like the scribbling and as a first book, I can’t complain so thanks kids. Here’s the video diary from the launch:

Next behind the scenes installment this week for ‘The Spirit of Albion’ movie so getting geared up for that.

Be nice to each other.

Back in the Mix

So one does these blogs nowadays do they? Well it’s been a while but I am determined to scribble down the thoughts and ramblings from the varied collection of life adventures for you all to read and cherish. Maybe if you’re feeling nice.

It’s been fun lately as I’ve been shooting the behind the scenes footage of the new feature film The Spirit of Albion. This pagan folk tale is inspired by the music of Damh the Bard and directed by Gary Andrews who along with his wife Joy were in my 2001 fantasy epic (OK, delete ‘epic’) Dawnrazor.

Judging by the first days shoot, this is going to be a beautiful flick and could very well be the definitive pagan film. OK, that’s a broad statement to make but this movie is being done with conviction and integrity with Damh’s music echoing through out. I have high hopes for this film. When I did my feature Return to Ravenswood,  I know the hard work that goes into making a feature flick and Director Gary Andrews is a very experienced filmmaker who I know will pull it off well.

Oh, and my book Paranormal Surrey is now out from (as they say) all good bookshops. Buy it please and make me wealthy!
